Implementing Collaborative Strategies
In the first four Deep Dive Days, participants learn of many different ingredients for addressing different aspects of the housing crisis. The challenge is that many of these strategies involve the alignment of mutually reinforcing activities. They are not silver bullet solutions, nor will they be very effective if not done systematically. The success of these approaches is enabled by practices and tools that are designed to support the development and implementation of multi-stakeholder strategies for complex social issues. These practices elevate efforts to achieve “collective impact” with proven and powerful approaches that overcome many of the barriers that typically hinder community strategy success.
Participants will learn about system thinking, strategy maps, the OMTA model, from-to gaps, strategic measurement, and other techniques that help break down silos and fragmentation. These sessions teach valuable skills for providing “backbone support” and for adopting measurement practices that are more useful than those typically adopted for typical evaluation purposes.
This day also features sessions on technologies that can significantly enhance collaboration and community teamwork—both at the strategic level and for operational coordination around individuals and households. Addressing the housing crisis requires simultaneously addressing issues of poverty and complex health issues that are best addressed with systematic coordination of care and services.
